How to Make the Most of a Wedding Showcase
Wedding showcases are events designed to highlight and promote wedding vendors, products, and services. They’re a perfect opportunity to get inspired, start planning your dream day, and chat with vendors face-to-face. If a wedding venue hosts the event, you’ll also get a chance to tour the space, which can really help you visualise your big day in that setting.
I was so excited to attend my first wedding showcase. It was one of the first “wedding-y” things we did, and honestly, it was such a wonderful experience. From my experience, I’ve put together some advice to help other brides-to-be make the most of a wedding showcase. Let’s dive in!

Before the Event
Chat with your fiancé about your priorities
Decide together which parts of your wedding are most important. This helps you know which vendors to prioritise speaking to and where to spend more time. Depending on the size of the event, you might not get to chat with everyone—or you might simply get tired as the day goes on. For us, the priorities were the venue, food, music, and photography.
During the Event
Girl, please enjoy yourself!
Wedding planning can be stressful, so let this be a day to relax and dream about how stunning your wedding will be. You’ll meet friendly vendors, take loads of Instagram-worthy photos, sample free goodies (and food!), and enjoy being the pampered bride of the season. Soak it all in!
Have an estimated wedding date in mind
Even if you haven’t confirmed your wedding date, having a rough idea helps. Vendors will ask about your date to ensure their availability and adjust their services if needed.
Ask all the questions
This is your chance to get immediate answers and figure out if a vendor can meet your specific needs. Ask about availability, packages, customisation options, pricing, and payment plans. Knowing these details early on can save time later when you’re ready to book.
Don’t be shy—ask for discounts!
Many vendors offer exclusive discounts to couples they meet at showcases, so it’s always worth asking.
Collect business cards and contact details
You’ll want to stay in touch with your favourite vendors, so make sure to grab their contact details.

Bring a spacious bag
You’ll collect plenty of business cards, leaflets, and freebies, so a roomy bag will keep you organised and hands-free.
If you love the venue, schedule a follow-up visit
Venues can be busy during wedding showcases, and coordinators often divide their attention among many couples. If you’re seriously considering the venue, book a private follow-up visit to finalise plans without distractions.
Bring a supportive friend or family member
Make it a fun outing with someone whose opinion you trust. They can offer an objective perspective and share in the excitement of the day.
Wear comfy shoes
This cannot be overstated—you’ll be on your feet a lot! By the end of the day, my feet were aching. Comfort is key.
Take breaks
Speaking of tired feet, make sure to take some time to sit down, soak in the atmosphere, and recharge.

After the Event
Unwind and debrief
After the whirlwind of the day, set aside time to relax with your partner and reflect. Have your priorities changed? Has a wedding aspect become more or less important to you than you originally thought? Did any vendor stand out to you? What are your next steps? Use this moment to confirm your plans and enjoy the process together.

I hope you’ve found these tips helpful! Save this post for when you’re attending your next wedding showcase—it’ll come in handy. Have you been to a showcase recently? I’d love to hear about your experience in the comments below!
Happy planning 💕
